Hairbows

I recently received a website with instructions on how to make hairbows for Autumn from a friend (thanks Ashley!). I finally got around to trying it out this past weekend. At first, I was COMPLETELY confused. After a few tries and my husband getting it on his first try and showing me, I finally got the hang of it. I ended up making her nine bows. I need more ribbon before I make more :)

Here's what ive done so far! I must admit, its kinda fun! Possibly a new hobby...

Autumn's 1!

I still cannot believe that Autumn is a year old!

On Febuary 2, 2009 at 6:26pm CT, the most perfect little girl came into our lives. She is now a walking, talking, handful of joy and we couldnt be more happy! She is absolutely perfect (most days) and we cant wait to watch her grow even more in the next year!

We celebrated her birthday with a party on January 30, 2010. We weren't 100% sure we were going to be able to pull it off with the big ice storm that hit 2 days prior, but we did and it was a blast! So many of our friends came out to celebrate the special day with us! We thank YOU ALL!

On Tuesday, February 2, 2010, Autumn had her 1 year well-baby check up. She weighs 21lbs 14oz and is 29.5in long! The Dr says she looks great! We are being referred to an eye Dr to check her eyesight to make sure her birthmark on her face isnt related to that at all. She's happy and healthy. The Dr was impressed when she squealed "hey" when he walked in the room and when she said 'pup pup' when he was talking about the dog. She's so smart :)

Later that night we had another family over for dinner and to celebrate again. Autumn LOVES cake and definitely enjoyed getting it twice in one week!

The following Friday, the 5th, I flew out to Atlanta to pick up our car that we had dropped off 3 weeks prior to be shipped to Korea. My mom met Autumn and I out there. We drove back to Knoxville that night and stayed with my parents for about 5 night before starting our drive back out to Oklahoma. Autumn did really well in the car for the most part. She definitely wont be able to make it 14 hours, 9 hours is about her limit, but I can handle that :)

She is walking all over the place now and is starting to climb all over everything. She pitches fits when she doesnt get what she wants, but just ignore her, and she'll forget all about it! Her top 2 teeth are trying to make their appearance and have been for about a week, but nothing yet. Hopefully soon!

WALKING!

That's right ladies and gentlemen, Autumn is walking! :) 3 days shy of her first birthday! She took her first steps on January 28. She only took two at the time. Today, she took quite a bit more! Everytime I turn around she's standing and trying to walk to me! She's growing up way to fast!

Ice Storm 2010

Ice is not fun! I dont mind snow. I can handle lots of snow, but ice is no fun! The ice storm hit us around noon on Thursday, January 28. Our power was out by 3pm but came back on around 8:30pm. The power went out again the following morning around 6am and came back on around noon. Luckily it has stayed on since then. It a few hours after we got power to get cable and internet back as well. Trees limbs are falling left and right around here. Its sad to see these trees go, but its also very beautiful outside. Luckily no damage to any houses or cars that we're aware of. As of this morning, the roads are clear and ice is melting. Its going to take a few weeks to get all the trees cleared up but until then, free firewood! :) We were able to go outside yesterday afternoon and go sledding down the hill in our backyard. Autumn seemed to enjoy it!

Vacation!

We are finally home and back in our normal routine after visiting our families for the last 2 and a half weeks! We started our trip off with heading to Memphis, TN to go to the Liberty Bowl and watch the Pirates play. My family came to the game as well. After the game we headed to Knoxville to spend some more time with my family. After TN, we headed to Raleigh, NC to visit with Charles' family. We then headed down to AL to visit with my Grandparents for a few days. It was a great trip and is always so nice to see family, but at the same time, its so nice to be home and sleeping in your own bed! :)

While on our vacation, Autumn attended a UT basketball game and a Hurricanes Hockey game where we sat ON the ice. Autumn had a great time at both. She danced, clapped and sang along with all the music. She also learned how to climb stairs (thanks to her Aunt Michelle), clap, signal 'touchdown' (thanks to her Grandma), stick her tongue out (thanks to her Aunt Michelle and Grandaddy), blow kisses (thanks to her Grandma) and wave bye-bye! She talks more and more everyday and is now starting to really sing :) It's so cute! She is also starting to say 'Uh-oh" whenever she drops something or something falls!

We have upgraded her to a bigger carseat but have yet to put her facing forward. We'll keep her rearfacing for a little while longer. Her 1st Birthday is about 2 weeks away. We are having a small party here in OK with some of our close friends. Her party will be her first real taste of cake and im excited to see how she reacts!

Christmas!

I really have been a slacker lately! Things are just crazy around here!

Christmas was fantastic with Autumn this year :) She wasnt that interested in opening presents BUT she was very interested in playing with them as soon as mommy and daddy opened them for her. She is quite a spoiled little girl! She loves and plays with all of her toys on a daily basis. She also loved Christmas dinner! Now that she's eating more 'big people food' she loves it when you give her some of whatever it is your eating.

She is still pulling up on everything she can get her hands on and is now walking assisted! She will pull up on one of her toys and walk with it! She is also standing alone, unassisted for short periods of time. She's just growing so fast!

Here are a few new pictures and a new video of her!! Enjoy!

Autumn and Santa
December 7, 2009

Monday, December 7, 2009

So its been a while since ive updated this thing. With the holidays, things have been pretty busy around here! Thanksgiving was great. We had some friends over for dinner. Autumn really enjoyed her first Thanksgiving. She LOVES sweet potatoes, ham and green beans.

This past Friday, December 4, was our battery Christmas party. It was a lot of fun and great seeing outside of the work environment. Autumn met Santa for the first time and seemed to really like him. She didnt cry, just sat on his lap and starred at him for the longest time. Tonight is the post tree lighting ceremony and she will get to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Autumn is constantly on the move these days. She HATES sitting in her highchair, car seat, in someones lap, anything that keeps her from being able to move around. We're having a hard time keeping her away from all the Christmas decorations and she can now reach the top of the end table and entertainment center and loves feeling around to see what she can find. She still talks up a storm all the time. She's cruising on the furniture and tries to stand on her own from time to time. It wont be long :)

Veterans Day

As everyone knows, today is Veteran's Day. As a military wife, I feel the need to say THANK YOU to all of our service men and women, past and present. And a special thanks to my husband who is not only a wonderful husband but also a wonderful soldier and father! Your girls love you!!

9 MONTHS!

Miss Autumn had her 9 month check-up last week. She now weighs 18lbs 3oz (55%) and is 27 3/4 (65%) inches long! As usual, the Dr said she looks perfect :) She received her first of two flu shots. She goes back in a month for her 'booster'.

Her two bottom teeth are a little more than halfway in. Luckily for us, there wasnt much fussing during the teething process and hopefully that's how they all are. She pulls up on the couch and entertainment center all the time. She is starting to chew on the side of her crib so I have to find some protectors so she doesnt completely destroy it! She's eating more finger foods these days. She usually gets something that we are having for dinner, green beans, sweet potatoes, a tator tot the other night:) She absolutely loves being independent and doing things for herself!

We are working on clapping and waving 'bye' right now. Its not working very well. She would much rather 'brush' her hands together, but we'll get there! :)

Autumn's first Halloween!

After a bidding war with another woman on ebay and winning at the last minute, I finally found Autumn a Halloween costume:) She didnt seem to really enjoy the whole process of trick-or-treating but she did love watching all the other people. She lasted about 3 hours in her costume before she was ready for bed!

In other Autumn news: She is constantly on the move! She loves crawling. She has learned how to sit up from crawling and is pulling up. We find her standing her crib often these days. Her two bottom teeth are also trying to make their grand appearance. Should be any day now!

On the move

Autumn is officially crawling!

She started off a little over a month ago getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. A little over a week ago, she started moving forward a little bit at a time then would fall back onto her belly. As of a few days ago, she is all over the place! The baby gates are in place, the floor is constantly clean and im not getting much done around the house! :) Its so awesome to watch her grow and learn all kinds of new things. I love every minute of it!
